Philosophy of Missions
The local church is comprised of followers of Christ who desire to obey all of His commands. Jesus summarized the commands of Scripture by saying, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matt 22:37-39) The mission of the church, therefore, is to love God and love others. When we consider loving others, there are two categories of people: believers and unbelievers. We must edify the church body by serving our brothers and sisters, but we must also reach out to the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The church exists to love God, serve others, and reach the world.
