Genesis 1–11 lays the foundation for the entire Bible. These chapters introduce the creation of the world, the beginning of humanity, and the tragic entrance of sin through the accounts of Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Noah and the Flood, and the Tower of Babel. More than a collection of familiar stories, they establish essential truths about who God is, who we are, why the world is the way it is, and God’s unfolding plan of redemption.

These opening chapters are the cornerstone of our faith. They shape our understanding of creation, humanity’s purpose, and the devastating effects of sin. Again and again, we see the same cycle: God creates what is good, humanity rebels, sin brings judgment and brokenness, and yet God responds with grace and mercy. From the very first sin in the Garden of Eden, God did not abandon His creation. Instead, He immediately began revealing His plan to reconcile sinful people to Himself.

Genesis 1–11 also reveals the seriousness of sin. Its consequences are profound—death, destruction, fractured relationships, divided families, and scattered nations. Yet woven throughout every account is the faithfulness of a holy and loving Creator who never abandons the work of His hands.

As we study these chapters together, we will dig deeply into God’s Word to discover that the God who created all things has never been absent from His creation. He is actively accomplishing His purposes and inviting us to know Him, trust Him, and walk in obedience. His plan of redemption, first hinted at in Genesis, ultimately points us to the hope found in Jesus Christ.
