The first spoken words from God recorded in Scripture are a command for light to shine into the darkness. Light must be important since the Lord chose to create it on the first day in history. And it pleased Him so much that He declared it “good.” From that time forward, God planned for His light to shine. And at the appointed time, He sent His Son to be the Light of the World. Sadly, much of our world remains in darkness. We, as God’s children, have been called to bear His light. The more we are like Christ, the more we can reflect His glorious light to others.

Meadowlands Baptist Church is hosting the annual Western Canada Baptist Fellowship Ladies’ Retreat Friday and Saturday, April 22-23. The cost of the full event is $60 which includes a lovely dinner, three sessions, and a fabulous brunch–not to mention some nice take-home items and fellowship with other ladies from Alberta and Saskatchewan! Can’t make it for both days? No worries! We have Friday only or Saturday only options for just $35. Several hotels are located in close proximity to the church; however, if housing is needed, please contact our church office to make arrangements. For the meals, many gluten-free options are available, but we ask that you contact the church office so that we can plan for you.

Donna Williams received the Light of Christ as a teenager and has served in ministry walking in that Light for over half century. She has taught ladies’ Sunday classes and Bible studies for many years.
Donna and her husband Matt have five children who are all serving the Lord with their spouses. She also is glad to be called Granna to nineteen grandchildren. She enjoys traveling with her husband for ministry trips and makes it a point to visit her grandkids in two states, five cities and one grand country of Canada. Donna has developed a heart for people and loves to reach out to those who need encouragement and discipleship. She can easily make friends with strangers if you give her a few minutes. Donna’s love for the Lord and down-to-earth demeanour are sure to be a blessing at this year’s ladies’ retreat.
