“What God Wants in Worship”

Many church-goers behave like consumers. They shop for a church like choosing a restaurant. They have their own preferences for worship—traditional or contemporary; formal or casual. There have been many heated debates (sometimes called “worship wars”) over methods and styles used in worship services. Many churches have decided to compromise by offering two or three different services to cater to the various personal tastes. Consumers ask, “What do I want in worship?” This fall we will be searching the Scriptures to answer a very different question.  Since we come to worship God we will ask, “What does God want in worship?” God’s Word provides direction for the kind of worship that pleases Him.
